Our annual Shannon Swim has been running for close to 30 years and still remains a most popular event in the locality. 33 swimmers took part in this years event, which runs from the Pier Head to just below Killaloe Library, a distance of about 500 metres.
This years’ winner was Mai Walsh in the Juvenile Category with a time of 7 minutes 32 seconds.

2nd – Nathan Shinners (7 minutes 33 seconds)
3rd – Anna Considine (8 minutes 32 seconds)
Open Category:
1st – Geno Quinlan (7 minutes 34 seconds)
2nd – Bobby Reynolds (8 minutes 54 seconds)
3rd – Johnny O’Loughlin (8 minutes 56 seconds)
Special Youth Category:
1st – Danny Hickey
2nd – Grace O’Brien
3rd – Aoife Ringrose
